Terms of use

Version 1 · 16 October 2026 · draft

Vellonik is a product of Tonomik, operated by Dicu Marius Nicolae (pending formal incorporation), Barcelona, Spain. Contact: marius.dicu@tonomik.com. By installing or using Vellonik you agree to these terms; the app shows them at first launch, and the Windows installer on its licence page. This is a draft under review.

What you get

Vellonik is licensed, not sold. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use it: during the free trial for 7 days on one computer (one trial per computer); with a paid licence on the number of computers (seats) it allows, while it is active. Everything you design with Vellonik (your projects, drawings and exported files) is yours.

The trial

Files exported during the trial carry a visible “VELLONIK TRIAL · NOT FOR SUBMISSION” watermark: they are for trying Vellonik, not for handing in. After the trial, without a licence, Vellonik opens your projects read-only: you can open and view them, but not change, save or export them.

The licence check

Vellonik checks its licence online at launch and once a day; it works offline for up to 7 days. It sends a pseudonymous device id (a one-way hash of your computer's hardware id), the app version and the system, never your projects (details in the privacy note). Every exported file carries a small hidden reference so that leaked or resold files can be traced to a licence.

What you may not do

Except where the law expressly allows it and these terms can't exclude it, you may not: copy, sell, rent, lend, share or redistribute Vellonik or a licence key, or let other people use your seats; reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or de-obfuscate Vellonik or try to get at its source code, including by giving the app, its files or its code to any person or tool (an AI coding assistant included) to rebuild, reproduce or imitate it; get around, disable or remove the licence check, the trial limit, the read-only mode, the watermark or the hidden export reference, or change your computer's date to do so; use Vellonik to build a competing product; remove the copyright notices or the credits of the open-source components and data sources.

Other software, data and services

Vellonik includes open-source components under their own licences (listed in the app under About Vellonik). Map, parcel and terrain data keep the licences of the sources credited in the app. If you connect your own Claude, you use it under your own agreement with Anthropic; Vellonik never handles your Claude login.

Updates

Vellonik updates itself with signed updates from designify.tonomik.com. Updates may change or add features; these terms apply to them too.

No warranty

Vellonik is a design aid for students: check every drawing and every number before you rely on it. It is provided “as is”, without any warranty that it is free of errors or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. Your rights as a consumer under the law of your country are not affected.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Tonomik is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost data or lost work, and its total liability is limited to what you paid for Vellonik in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

End

These terms end if you break them; then you must stop using Vellonik and delete it. A subscription ends at the end of the paid period unless it is renewed.

Law

Spanish law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection of the country you live in. Courts: those of your place of residence if you are a consumer, otherwise Barcelona.
