Who
Vellonik is a product of Tonomik, operated by Dicu Marius Nicolae (pending formal incorporation). Contact: marius.dicu@tonomik.com.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. Fonts and scripts are served from this domain. If you switch the language, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage, only so the site opens in that language next time. The web server may keep the usual technical logs (IP address, time, page) for a short time, for security.
The reservation form
It collects your name, email, school or university, year of study, the optional message and the page language. It is sent to the automation system (n8n) that Tonomik hosts and controls on its own server in Nuremberg, Germany, inside the EU. We use it only to write to you about Vellonik and your seat: no third-party marketing, no profiling, and we don't share it. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). We keep it for 12 months after our last exchange, or less if you ask us to delete it.
The app and the network
Your projects stay on your computer; Vellonik has no accounts and no telemetry. The app goes online only for:
- Licence check: Vellonik checks its licence online at launch and once a day; it works offline for up to 7 days. Each check sends designify.tonomik.com a pseudonymous device id (a one-way hash of your computer's hardware id, salted for Vellonik: it can't be turned back into it), the app version and the system (macOS / Windows). The licence service keeps that hash (on Windows also a second hash of the firmware id alone, so a reinstalled Windows keeps its trial date), when your trial started, when it last connected with which app version and system and, if you have a licence, which key it is bound to. Nothing else: not your name, not your IP address (rate limits are counted in memory only; the web server's short technical logs are described above), never your projects. It is there so the trial is one per computer and licences can be checked (legitimate interest and performance of the contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). Computers that haven't connected for 2 years and never had a licence are deleted automatically. Every exported file carries a short hidden reference (part of that hash and the export time) so leaked or resold files can be traced.
- Street-level photos: when you ask Claude to build a real building, Vellonik asks its own service at designify.tonomik.com for street-level photos near the building. It sends the building's position (latitude and longitude), the ids of the photos it downloads, and your computer's pseudonymous device id with its licence pass (to check the licence and count requests per computer); nothing about your project. The service keeps no log of these requests: it counts them in memory and caches Mapillary's answers (searches 7 days, photos 30 days). Mapillary only sees our server, never your computer. A photo you add is stored inside your project file with its credit and is never exported in drawings or model files. A project file you pass on carries its photos: they stay CC BY-SA 4.0, so whoever gets the file may reuse them only with the credit and under the same licence.
- Updates: at most once a day (and when you choose Check for Updates…) it reads designify.tonomik.com/updates/latest.json and, if you accept, downloads the new, signed version.
- Site from the map, only while that dialog is open: map tiles from OpenFreeMap and the Catastro parcel layer load directly (those services see your IP address and the map area); search (Nominatim), buildings and roads (Overpass, Catastro) and terrain (IGN, Terrain Tiles) go through the app with rate limits and a 30-day local cache. Only the place you search and the bounds of the area are sent, never your project.
- Claude, if you connect it: Claude Desktop or Claude Code talk to Vellonik on your own computer. Claude only sees what it asks Vellonik for (the model summary and the drawings), inside your own Claude account, under Anthropic's terms.
- Report a problem opens a draft in your email app; you decide whether to send it.
